Sublime Text

Latest version:Unknown
Release date:Unknown

Sublime Text is a text editor for code, markup and prose. Notable features include GPU rendering of the interface, tab multi-select for splitting views, a rewritten context-aware auto complete engine that suggests based on existing project code, and an improved syntax engine with faster load times and lower memory use. TypeScript, JSX and TSX support ships by default, and a Python-based API lets plugins such as LSP integrate more deeply.

Sublime Text describes itself as a sophisticated text editor for code, markup and prose. The interface can use the GPU for rendering on Linux, Mac and Windows, and tab multi-select turns file tabs into first-class citizens so a split view can show several tabs at once, working alongside the side bar, tab bar, Goto Anything and Goto Definition. The auto complete engine was rewritten to give context-aware suggestions based on existing code in a project, augmented with the kind of each suggestion and links to definitions. The syntax highlighting engine was significantly improved, handling non-deterministic grammars, multi-line constructs, lazy embeds and syntax inheritance with lower memory use and faster load times, and TypeScript, JSX and TSX support is shipped by default. The Python-based API has been significantly expanded, which lets plugins such as LSP work better than before.
