A macOS PostgreSQL client with a multi-file SQL query editor and built-in formatting, spreadsheet-style data entry and filtering, a graphical structure editor for tables, columns and constraints, a function and stored procedure editor, and support for Redshift, Greenplum and CockroachDB.

Postico 2 is a database app with a strong focus on its core audience of people who use databases, and its customers range from researchers and analysts to app developers and students, whether they want to enter data, search data or run SQL queries. It is compatible with PostgreSQL and works with Amazon Redshift, CockroachDB and Greenplum, while databases such as Vertica are supported only to the extent of executing SQL. A multi-file query editor lets you create SQL files, organise them into folders, open the same file in several tabs or windows, autosave changes, drag a file into the sidebar, and edit it in tools such as VS Code, Atom, Sublime or Textmate, with pgFormatter built in for auto-formatting. Clicking a table in the sidebar shows the data instantly for adding rows, editing or filtering, helped by a foreign key picker and a row detail sidebar. A graphical structure editor creates and alters tables, columns, indexes and constraints in one place, with a raw SQL DDL view, and there is also an editor for functions and stored procedures. Connections can be filtered, organised into nested groups and synced through iCloud or Dropbox, and startup queries customise server settings such as read-only connections.
