Open WebUI is a self-hosted AI platform for running AI on your own terms. It offers a chat interface where you can connect any model, local or cloud, including Ollama, OpenAI, Anthropic or anything compatible, run it locally, in the cloud, or both, and extend it with Python. Its toolkit covers voice, vision, retrieval, generation and search, and shared models, prompts, skills, tools and functions are available from a community library that people can browse, install and contribute to. For organisations it lists single sign-on, role-based access control, audit logs, data residency, and on-premises or air-gapped deployment for regulated industries. It is installed with a single pip or Docker command and requires no account.
