ImageOptim

Latest version:Unknown

ImageOptim is an open-source image compression application for macOS. Dropping images into its window runs several optimization tools in sequence and combines their results, using MozJPEG, pngquant, Pngcrush, SVGO and Zopfli. It also scrubs invisible data such as private EXIF metadata from digital cameras, embedded thumbnails, comments and unnecessary color profiles, and integrates with Finder, Sketch and the command line.

ImageOptim optimizes images by drag and drop: files dropped into its window are passed through several open-source compression tools in sequence, and the results are combined to get the smallest file size while preserving quality. With the optional lossy minification setting enabled, more aggressive optimization is applied to JPEG, SVG, animated GIF and PNG files. The app also removes invisible data such as private EXIF metadata left by digital cameras, embedded thumbnails, comments and unnecessary color profiles, and can be triggered from Finder, Mail markup, Sketch or the command line.
