Fluent Reader is a local-first RSS reader for macOS, Windows and Linux that keeps your feeds and your reading list on your own machine rather than on someone else's server. You can subscribe to RSS, Atom and JSON feeds, organise them into folders and labels, and mark items for later in a dedicated view that doubles as a reading list. A full-text search engine indexes the article bodies rather than only the headlines, which makes large archives actually searchable. The reading pane strips the clutter out of a page so you get just the text and images, and the interface is designed to stay out of the way. Browser extensions can capture subscriptions from the page you are reading, and the project is open source with builds for all three platforms.
