Downie is built around one task: saving a video from the web to your Mac. Paste a link, pick the quality and the download is done, across YouTube, Vimeo, Youku, Dailymotion and over a thousand other sites, taking the highest quality each site offers. A browser extension for Safari, Chrome and Firefox sends links to the app in one click, and a built-in browser guides you through extraction on sites that are not supported out of the box. In postprocessing you can trim the result or keep only the audio track, and download history can be synced through iCloud.
